His areas of specialization are Natural Product Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry involving synthesis, Spectroscopy Assigned structure to more than 100 new compounds like Lignans, Terpenoids, Glycosides, Coumarins, Alkaloids etc. He has also guided 47 students towards their PhD and 50 M. Pharma students.
He is a member of professional bodies such as Life member of Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India; Chairman- All India Board in Pharmaceutical Education, AICTE, New Delhi; Life member of State Pharmacy Council of India; Member BOS, Pharmacy, Mumbai University and more.
He also has 16 years of experience in Pharmacy Teacher’s Training Programs conducted at Kakatiya University (sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi under Quality Improvement Program (QIP), and at Panjab University, Chandigarh (sponsored by University Grants Commission (UGC) under Networking Training Centre (NTC), India. Dr. Raghurama Rao has 60 national and international papers, 4 patents, 12 review articles, 2 book chapters to his credit.
She has scientific expertise in health communications, risk communications and epidemiology. She is an innovative problem solver with critical thinking skills and also a seasoned planner, communicator and presenter. She has more than ten years experience in healthcare, she is organized, highly motivated, and a detail-directed problem solver. She also has professional leadership and management experience of more than five years.
He obtained masters and post graduation degree in Pharmacology from JSS college of Pharmacy, Ooty. He secured Gold medal in M.Pharmacy and got the best outgoing student award. He has completed his doctoral programme in the field of Evaluation of Adverse drug reaction and drug interaction monitoring. In 1995, he joined College of Pharmacy, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical sciences, Coimbatore. He has 22 years of teaching experience. He has got more than 80 publications in various National and International journals for his credit. He has received the “BEST TEACHER AWARD” from the Tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R University, Chennai in November 2011. He is the Chief Editor of the Pharmacy Practice News Letter released from his institution. He has delivered lectures in various national and international conferences on various topics like Clinical Research, Pharmaceutical care, Medication errors, Clinical Competencies etc. His area of interest is on Drug interaction studies and implementation of ADR monitoring program in hospital setup. He is Life member in various associations like APTI, IHPA, IPA, IPGA etc.
Currently he is Director, Kerala Institute for Drug Studies (KIDS) Trivandrum, Chairman, Pharmaceutical Society of Kerala, a Unit of Kerala State Pharmacy Council and Pharmaceutical Consultant of Medicine Policy projects of World Bank. Dr. Revikumar has taken B.Sc, B.Pharm, LLB and Ph.D (Clinical Pharmacy) from Kerala University and M.Pharm (Hospital Pharmacy) from Delhi University. He has to his credit many postgraduate diplomas in disciplines like journalism, German language, business administration, Clinical Research and personnel management.
Dr. Revikumar has been instrumental in establishing a separate department of Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy Services, the first of its kind in Government set up in India, at Govt. Medical College Trivandrum in 1992 and was responsible for initiating many ‘new’ trends in hospital, clinical and community pharmacy in the country. Dr. Revikumar has over 95 publications to his credit in national and international journals. He is working / worked as Doctoral Committee Chairman and member of 12 Indian Universities for Ph.D. programs in Pharmacy and supervised the works of 12 Ph.D. scholars. He is currently guiding over a dozen PhD scholars. He has completed various projects worth over Rs 2.2 crores under various Schemes in Government Medical Colleges.
The areas of research of Dr. Revikumar includes Clinical studies and Trials, adverse drug reactions and pharmacovigilance, therapeutic drug monitoring, Medicine procurement in government and private sectors, Formularies and Policies, drug information, Pharmacoeconomics, Pharmacoepidemiology, medication therapy management, innovations in pharmacy practice ( hospital, clinical and community pharmacy related areas). He was the recipient of prestigious Prof, M.L.Schroff memorial national award in 2002 for his contributions in Pharmacy Practice in Government set up in India.
He is also a member of Rho Chi Society (Pharmacy Honor Society). He was awarded the Student Leadership and Service Award by University of Minnesota-President. He was also the member Referee Panel for the Journal, Drug Metabolism and Personalized Therapy (DMPT) 2016.
She has written 5 publications and also has a patient registered. She also has presentations on topics such as “Vitamin D deficiency and diabetes: Perceptions of pharmacists and physicians”; “Resveratrol: Potential application in Combat against corticosteroid insensitivity in COPD”; “Sub anorectic dose of sibutramine in combination with melatonin results in attenuation of obesity in diet induced obese rats”, and more. Shea has also done a few consultancy services in the last 5 years on drug evaluation, Preclinical R&D and Product evaluation. Her research interest also include evaluation of photosensitivity of drugs & formulations and strategies for improving photostability and minimizing phototoxicity; Research on role of receptors and targets incigarette smoke induced neurogenic pain and inflammation in lungs; Behavioural pharmacology; Effect of heavy metals and environmental toxicants on CNS.
She has experience in teaching in various sets of fields such as Contemporary Aspects of Pharmacy Practice, Metabolic Syndrome Elective, Contemporary Aspects of Pharmacy Practice, Pharmaceutical Care (I, II, III, IV). She also has a number of publications, book chapters, journal reference. Other activities she is involved in are Clinical Pharmacy Practice at Student Health Pharmacy, University of Mississippi. She has also done service activities at University of Mississippi and at Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy. She has worked as assistant professor, Patient Clinical Coordinator, Community Pharmacy Residency, at North Dakota state university and also worked as Patient Clinical Coordinator, Urgent Care Physician Assistant, Clinical Pharmacist Ambulatory Care and more in her carrier. She was also awarded the NDSHP Pharmacy Practice Literature Award; Apple Polisher Award for Teaching Excellence (Twice); Mary Berg Award for Excellence in Teaching; Innovative Pharmacy Practice Award 2010 North Dakota and Rho Chi Society, Kappa Chapter Faculty Member.
She has finished her training at East Carolina University/Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Family Medicine. She has taught Pharmaceutical Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry. She has 39 internationalpublications and 17 national publications; 7 research projects completed and 2 ongoing projects. Her areas of research include, Mutual Prodrugs of Nonsteroidal Antiinflammatory Drugs for Lowering Ulcerogenic Potential, Colon Specific Prodrugs for Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Mutual Prodrugs for osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, Orally bioavailable prodrugs using diglyceride strategy for antimicrobials Mutual Prodrugs of Antihypertensive Agents and Diuretics, Mutual prodrugs antidiabetic and antihyperlipidemic drugs Analytical and Bio-analytical Method Development. She has also give over 60 guest lectures and attended 20 conferences internationally.
She has edited 5 books and published many articles in national and International journals. She is a member of many National and International organizations and two patents to her credit. She has guided 60 M.Pharm and 5 PhD students of pharmaceutics and Pharmacy practice. She was the chief investigator many projects of health and family welfare department of Karnataka state.
She was also the best outgoing student from Madras Medical College 1990; recipient of IDMA- GP Nair award for the year 1990; received Gold medal from Madras University for the year 1990. Her professional Achievements include becoming the Chief Editor of Newsletter of Women’s forum of APTI; Chief Editor of Sper’s Journal of Pharmacy Practice; Instrumental in setting up of clinical pharmacy department in a tertiary care hospital (Victoria hospital) at Bangalore; Chief investigator of WHO Geneva project on medicine price measurement for the state of Karnataka; Co-ordinated HIV AIDS training program for Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh for pharmacists working under ART center funded by NACO.
Her research guidance includes twenty two candidates awarded with PhD degrees; one PhD thesis under adjudication, fifty six candidates awarded M.Pharm degrees, ten students working for Ph.D degrees and 5 students working for M.Pharm degrees. She has published eighty two research papers to date in national and international journals and attended seventy seminars and symposia.
Her various achievements and distinctions include winning the M.L.Khorana Gold Medal for standing first in B. Pharm on All India Basis in the year 1977, winning the III Prize in B.V. Patel National Essay Writing Competition in “Community Pharmacy” in September 1998, winning the first prize in National Essay Writing Competition on “GATT Agreement- Drug Prices in India after 2005” conducted by Pharmainfo.net, a Canadian Online Pharmacy Journal in December 2004, winning the first prize in Skills test an online year long national level competition conducted by Pharmainfo.net in 2011 and winning the silver medal in B.V. Patel National Essay Writing Competition in 2013.
Mrs. Vijaya Ratna is also the coordinator for POWER (Indian Women Pharmacists Forum) and has participated in the organization of a session on women pharmacists in the 65 th IPC (Delhi), 66 th IPC (Hyderabad) and in the 67 th IPC (Mysore). Mrs. Vijaya Ratna currently has 3 patent applications and is a life member of Professional bodies, IPA, APTI, IHPA, IPGA and IAPS (IPA –AP/LM/WALT/0011; APTI-AP/LM144 IHPA- 50361; IPGA; IAPST-LM/07075)
He has received gold medal in 1998 for outstanding performance in D. Pharmacy. He is also a Life Member in Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI), Bangalore and Life Member in Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP), Indore. His field of research is Pharmaceutical Analysis and some his critical appraisals are Developed and validated new analytical methods by using UPLC, HPLC, LC- MS, HPTLC, Spectrofluorimetric and Spectrophotometric techniques and Guided Research Projects for B. Pharmacy, M. Pharmacy and Ph.D. programs. Under his guidance there were 30 Masters researches and 4 PhD researches completed. There are more than 40 papers/books/patents on his name.
He was awarded with “RASHTRAPATI SCOUT” by the bharat scouts and guides, Sri Reddy Katam Raju & Smt Narayanamma” Memorial Scholarship for obtaining highest marks in Mathematical Statistics. His objective is to work on right tarmac of Statistics in reference to Social and human welfare and also to achieve the goal to be a part of new innovations in Statistical era.
He is the reviewer of Indian Journal of Pharmacy Practice, Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Journal of Pharmacy Practice and Research, Journal of AIDS and HIV Research and International Journal of Health and Allied Sciences. He is also a member of IPA, IHPA, APTI and ISPOR. His areas of interest include community pharmacy practice.
Dr Salma Khanam is recognized by RGUHS as Guide for M Pharm and Ph.D and has guided 45 M Pharm and 3 Ph.D candidates. She has co- guided 6 MD students in Ayurveda and 2 MD students in Unani. She has published more than 45 articles in various peer reviewed national and international journals. She has authored a chapter in NISCAIR publication. She has delivered several guest lectures and has actively participated in organizing many workshops and conferences concerned with herbal drug research. She has served as resource person and has chaired scientific sessions at conferences. She is serving as reviewer for various national and international journals.
Dr Salma Khanam has got research grants from AICTE and RGUHS. Her areas of interests range from isolation and identification of phytoconstituents, standardization of herbal products to screening of herbal drugs for various activities. She has completed many Industrial/Institutional collaborative projects with Natural Remedies, IIHR, FRLHT and Sami Chemicals, Bangalore.
She has served as Academic Council Member of RGUHS. And is currently Academic Council member at MS Ramaiha University of Applied Sciences. She is member of Ph.D. Registration Committee for Pharmacy faculty, RGUHS. She is member of Technical research Committee at National Institute of Unani Medicine.NIUM. She has contributed as technical expert for curriculum development of Graduate, Post graduate pharmacy courses in Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. She was one of guest faculty at Strides Arco Labs, Bangalore for MS programme under BITS Pilani.
She is on the roll of various professional organizations as life member and examiner for various Universities in India.
She has taught for 15 years at The Bombay College of Pharmacy where she has handled several subjects at Undergraduate level including Pharmaceutics, Dispensing Pharmacy, Forensic Pharmacy etc. and Pharmaceutics topics at P.G. level. Following her move to Hyderabad, she is now Associate Professor at Shri Venkateshwara College of Pharmacy.
During her tenure at the Bombay College of Pharmacy, Dr. Hema Nair has guided 2 students towards their Ph.Ds and 22 students towards Masters degrees. She has 3 National and 11 international publications to her credit. She has been the recipient of several research grants from various Government agencies including ICMR, AICTE, UGC, University of Mumbai etc. amounting to a total of over 36 lakh rupees and has participated in the execution of Industry sponsored projects.
He also has 16 oral/poster presentations at conferences and coming to research publications, he has 6 national, 16 international and 2 communicated publications. He has also written a chapter in a book.
She has 8 international publications, 10 Indian publications and an Indian patent. Which the publications there are also 10 international poster presentations and 21 national poster presentation. She is also the editor-in-chief for Asian journal of Pure and applied chemistry and Editorial board member for International journal - Research & Reviews: Journal of Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance.
She received “Dr. P. D. Sethi’s Annual Award 2012 – Best Research Papers Certificate of Merit” and "8th Dr P D Sethi’s Annual Award 2012 – Certificate of merit" for her scientific publications. She has guided 30 Postgraduate projects and was personally affiliated as a member of Indian Pharmaceutical Association. She is also Associate Editor, JSS UNI Newsletter, JSS University, Mysore and an organizing committee member, actively coordinated various national and international seminars and workshops organized at JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty.
Dr. Sreedhar has expertise in Management, Pharmaceutical Marketing and Drug Regulations and has also done research in it. His special interests include International Marketing, Intellectual Property Rights, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, Disease Management and Health Economics. He also has more than 10 publications on his name.
She worked as scientific committee member in UGC Sponsored “National Seminar on “Innovative Research and Development in Pharmaceutical Sciences – Current Scenario and New Horizons” organized in Acharya Nagarjuna University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences on 9th & 10th November, 2012. She Worked as Treasurer in Two day UGC- Sponsored National Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights and Patent Filing organized by University College of Pharmaceutical Science Acharya Nagarjuna University Guntur on 25th and 26th March, 2015.
She was awarded Shri G.P. NAIR Award; Karnataka state award Vasavi Union Gold Medals between the years of 1983 and 1985. She has also bestowed “Women of Excellence” award under “medical” category conferred by AVOPA in March 2011. She also has 7 best paper awards; 21 research grants; 47 postgraduate research projects; 77 papers publications and also 4 years of industrial experience under her belt. She has also 10 doctoral research projects, 47 postgraduate research projects and 10 industrial projects.
He was honored with Best Researcher Award and Recipient of Sponsorship from many International and National Bodies to attend International Events; Paper is documented in Planning Commission’s Document. He has Acknowledged in the Thirty-ninth (2005) and fortieth (2006) and Forty-first (2007) report of WHO document “Expert Committee on Specifications for Pharmaceutical Preparations” for contribution. He totally had 61 International Journals, 67 National Journals and 150 popular articles published.
He has been teaching organic chemistry and allied subjects to the undergraduate and postgraduate students at the Bombay College of Pharmacy since 1986. He is a renowned scientist and teacher in pharmacy education and has been teaching at Bombay College of Pharmacy for more than two decades and as visiting faculty at several well known organizations. His interest lies in the area of NMR of peptides, strategic design of anti infective agents using computer assisted tools for drug design.
He also heads the molecular modeling and drug design group at the Bombay College of Pharmacy. More than 30 graduates have completed M. Pharm. and 13 have completed Ph. D. (Tech.) under his guidance and supervision.
